News India Live, Digital Desk: Increasing Strength of Indian Air Force: Indian Air Force is fully prepared to give a new dimension to its firepower and war preparations. The Air Force is now considering purchasing two to three squadrons from foreign sources of fifth generations from about 36 to 54 aircraft from foreign sources. A detailed proposal related to this procurement has recently been sent by the Air Force to the Ministry of Defense. The scheme has come at a time when the Air Force does not have the experience of working on various aircraft projects like ‘Aman’ AMAN project currently. Also, in the next decade or more, indigenous projects like ‘Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft’ AMCA may take time to come to the ground. In such a situation, it is very important for India to maintain its air superiority, given the growing military strength and technical progress of enemy countries, especially Pakistan and China. The AMCA is expected to be included only by the mid -20s, and till then the shortage of fifth generation aircraft will be met by foreign procurement. The Indian Air Force has clearly stated in its proposal to the Ministry of Defense that it has a strict requirement of such state -of -the -art aircraft soon. The main objective of the acquisition of these aircraft is to combat the ever -increasing military capabilities of neighboring countries and further strengthen India’s air security. The Ministry of Defense is currently reviewing this proposal of the Air Force seriously and consultations on various aspects are going on. It is expected that soon a final decision will be taken on this important acquisition, which will define the future warfast of the Indian Air Force.
