In a statement, the Central government said that over Rs 63,000 crore has been released to Andhra Pradesh under various central schemes in the last five years.

Union Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Choudhary said that the Finance Ministry allocates funds to various ministries and departments for each scheme and programme, including Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS), through the budget process.

He said while ministries and departments release the central share of CSS funds to state governments as per the guidelines of the respective schemes, funds released subsequently to states are subject to submission of utilisation certificates as per General Finance Rules (GFR) for funds released earlier.

Chowdhary said he intends to adjust the unutilised funds into grant-in-aid during the next year.

Replying to a supplementary question regarding allegations of corruption during the previous YSR Congress government in Andhra Pradesh, the Union Minister of State for Finance said if the central government receives any specific notice, it will take action.
