News India Live, Digital Desk: A big and relief news has come out for lakhs of students of the country preparing for Chartered Accountancy (CA). The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has decided to make a revolutionary change regarding the CA final and intermediate examinations. According to the new rules, now CA final examinations will be conducted twice a year. The objective of this decision is to provide more opportunities to the students and reduce the exam pressure. Preparations to implement this new system have been completed since the May session.
Students’ wait is over, now they will get two chances in a year
For a long time, CA students have been demanding that the gap between examinations be reduced and they be given more opportunities in a year. ICAI has approved this and made it clear that now students will not have to wait for the whole year to prove their eligibility. Having exams twice a year will benefit the most those students who missed out by a few marks. Now they will be able to save their precious years by joining the next session without wasting any time.
New schedule for May and November session
According to the latest update released by ICAI, CA Final and Intermediate examinations will now be conducted systematically in two main slots of the year. Generally these examinations are scheduled in the months of May and November. The institute has also issued special guidelines to increase the number of examination centers and ensure a transparent evaluation process. Students can check their detailed exam calendar and registration deadline by visiting the official website.
Big changes have taken place at the foundation level also
Along with finals and intermediates, ICAI has also clarified its strategy for foundation level examinations. Foundation examinations are now being conducted three times a year, making the initial path to becoming a CA even more accessible. Experts believe that these changes will increase the inclination of youth towards CA course and the shortage of chartered accountants in the professional sector will be bridged.
Students got new direction for preparation
Education experts say that having examinations twice a year will maintain consistency of the students. Earlier, a gap of six months or a year after one failure used to affect the morale of the students, but now they will be able to enter the field with ‘back-to-back’ preparation. ICAI has advised students to prepare their study plans as per the new syllabus and revised exam pattern so that they can take full advantage of this opportunity.
