Huge crisis of petrol and diesel in Bhagalpur! Pump dry, drivers kept wandering for hours – serious questions raised on the system

Posts

Bhagalpur. Monday was no less than a nightmare for the drivers of Bhagalpur city. Most of the petrol pumps in the city were either completely empty or due to partial supply, there was a huge shortage of petrol and diesel at some places. People wandering from one pump to another were forced to return empty handed even after hours of hard work and an atmosphere of chaos prevailed in the city.

Helplessness spread from court to zero mile

The situation remained similar and worrying in all the important areas of the city. Diesel was completely exhausted at Vaibhav petrol pump located near Kachari Chowk, while the stock of both petrol and diesel was exhausted at the pumps of Zeromile and Sabour. Long queues had started forming since morning, but within a few hours, ‘No Stock’ boards were hung on the pumps and dozens of drivers had to return dejectedly without taking fuel.

Everyone from office goers to auto drivers are worried.

The common people were hit the hardest by this fuel crisis. Office-going workers, school bus operators, auto-rickshaw drivers and small traders were badly affected. Many people said that despite visiting two to three pumps, they could not get fuel. Due to decrease in the number of autos and private buses, public transport was also disrupted and passengers had to face a lot of problems.

Shortage of supply or hoarding – what is the real reason?

Petrol pump operators say that sudden increase in demand and decrease in supply is the main root of this crisis. But the question is also gaining momentum as to why additional supplies were not arranged in time. Lack of coordination between oil companies and local administration and shortcomings in the distribution system are also believed to be the reason for this. At the same time, there is also a strong discussion that as soon as the news of the crisis spread, some people started filling more fuel than required, due to which the situation worsened.

Administration claims – supply will be restored soon

The local administration says that the situation is under control and the supply will be normalized soon. But the anger of the city residents is not subsiding. Experts believe that this crisis is not just a one-day mistake but a sign of a major failure in the fuel distribution system. If this is not controlled in time, then the problems of common people may increase further in the coming days.
