You can lodge an FIR at any time after the incident, as there is no fixed time limit for this. However, according to Section 468 of the CRPC, if the crime sentence is one year, the complaint should be lodged within a year. If possible, it is best to file a complaint as soon as possible after the incident, as it accelerates the investigation process.

Other online police services

Apart from online FIR, you can also avail other services of Police Department, including the following:

Tenant registration

Why is an online FIR necessary?

Several times the applicants are disappointed when going to the police station to lodge a complaint. In some incidents, the police sends a simple application to the complainant and refer to the FIR. Online FIR facility resolves problems that can lodge a complaint easily and quickly. This feature is particularly effective for non-enlightened offenses, which do not require immediate police intervention.
