Hindustan Ambassador’s new avatar: When will I come back?:

Post

The new and modern avatar of Hindustan Ambassador, known as New Ambassador, has been a topic of discussion in the Indian automobile market. For years, many speculation and reports have come to light about its reliance, but no official launch date or production has been announced at the moment.

What are the expectations?

Hindustan Motors Financial Corporation of India (HMFCI) and Peugeot (Citroën) agreement:

According to many reports, HMFCI ????????? PSA Group (which is now part of Stellantis, original company of brands such as Peugeot and Citroën) is joined to develop a new ambassador.

Under the agreement, a new model was expected to be introduced by 2024–2025, which could come with a 1.2-liter petrol engine or a 1.5-liter diesel engine.

It is believed that its design will maintain the legacy of the classic ambassador, but at the same time it will have the ability to follow emissions rules like modern features, better security standard and ARAI (Automotive Research Association of India).

Design and features:

Modern ambassadors will possibly include sharp lines, LED lighting, better infotainment systems, connected car technology, air conditioning, power steering, power windows and advance safety features (such as dual airbags, ABS, ESP).

Efforts will be made to make its look more attractive and contemporary, while the original ambassador’s identified silhouette can be tried to maintain some extent.

Will it be launched?

Until there is no official confirmation from HMFCI or Stellantis (PSA Group), the date and specifications of the new ambassador’s launch will remain only speculation.

Along with these rumors in the automotive sector, it is also being said that work is going on on the project, but may be delayed due to reasons such as epidemic and supply chain obstacles.

Current Status:
So far, there is no strong information about the production or official launch of the new ambassador. This car remains one of the most awaited models for its return in the Indian automobile market.
