Heavy rains with strong winds in Punjab, officials holiday canceled

Punjab Weather- The forecast of the Meteorological Department for Punjab seems to prove to be true. Many districts have been receiving heavy rains since last night. Education Minister Harjot Bains has appealed to the people to be careful. He wrote on his Facebook page – “For the last half an hour, there is a strong storm and rain in Shri Anandpur Sahib and Nangal area, God should keep blessings on you.”

For 6-7 October, heavy rains are predicted in the catchment areas of Ravi and Beas rivers in Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh, due to which the state government has been asked to be vigilant.

The government has alerted the Deputy Commissioners of 17 districts of the state in view of the new disaster. A red alert has been issued for this evening in some districts of Punjab.

Amritsar, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Faridkot and Mohali in Punjab may rain on the morning of 5 October. A warning of heavy rain has been issued in 14 districts of the state. There is a threat of floods for the next three days.

Meanwhile, Jalandhar Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal has directed all departments and agencies to stay on high alert. They have canceled the holidays of the officers and ordered them to be stationed in their camp offices.

Mansa, Sangrur, Barnala, Patiala, Mohali, Fatehgarh Sahib, Ludhiana, Chandigarh, Rupnagar, Moga, Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar and Hoshiarpur districts are expected to cause lightning and strong winds at a speed of 30 to 40 kmph.

The Meteorological Center has issued a warning of heavy rains in Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. Dams of Himachal and Punjab are being vacated to deposit water in the event of heavy rains.
