Has the speed of water coming into the washing machine become extremely slow? Fix it yourself in just 10 minutes before calling a mechanic

Is your washing machine taking too much time to fill water these days? Or has water completely stopped coming into it? Wait, know this easy home remedy before calling a mechanic and spending thousands of rupees unnecessarily. Often people think that the motor or some expensive internal part of the machine has gone bad, but in reality the problem lies in a very small place, which is Inlet Water Filter It is said. It is a small mesh which is placed near the joint of the water pipe. Its function is to prevent soil, rust and debris from the water in your house from entering the machine. When it gets blocked, water stops flowing into the machine. Let us know how you can fix it yourself at home in just 10 minutes.

Why does this mesh get jammed during monsoon season?

During the rainy season, the particles of soil, silt, sand and rust in the municipal corporation or borewell water increase much more than on normal days. When this dirty water enters your washing machine through the pipes, the inlet filter traps all this fine waste. If this happens continuously for a few weeks, this mesh becomes completely choked (jammed). This is the reason why during monsoon the machine takes double the time to fill water or stops midway by showing ‘Water Error Code’. If it is not cleaned on time, then clothes are not washed properly due to low water pressure.

Step-by-Step Easy Way to Clean Inlet Water Filter

It is very easy to clean and you do not need any special tools or technical knowledge for this. Just follow the steps given below:

  1. Safety First: Before starting any work, keeping safety in mind, switch off the washing machine and remove the plug from the socket.

  2. Turn off the water: After this, completely close the main water supply tap so that water does not spread in the house while opening the pipe.

  3. Open the pipe: Now gently open the inlet hose (plastic water pipe) installed at the rear of the machine by rotating it with a thread.

  4. Remove the filter: As soon as you remove the pipe, you will see a small plastic or steel colored mesh inside the machine. Pull out this filter gently with the help of a normal pliers or your fingers. You will see that a thick layer of brown soil will accumulate on it.

  5. Clean with brush: Place this filter under clean running water. If the waste is very old and hard, then clean the mesh by gently scrubbing it with the help of an old toothbrush.

  6. Fit Back: When the mesh is completely clean and light is visible through it, fit it back in its place directly. Re-tighten the pipe tightly, turn on the tap and test for leaks and then plug in the machine and use it.

After how many days should this filter be cleaned?

If the monsoon month is going on or there is salty/turbid water in your area, then you must open and clean this filter once every 3 to 4 weeks. In the remaining normal months of the year, cleaning it once every 2 to 3 months is sufficient. But if you ever suddenly find the water pressure low or the machine shows an error on the screen, then clean this filter immediately without any delay. By doing this, the lifespan of your expensive machine will increase, electricity will be saved and the clothes will also be washed clean.
