News India Live, Digital Desk: Indian Postal Department (India Post) has completed preparations to release the official notification of recruitment to the posts of ‘Gramin Dak Sevak’ (GDS) for the year 2026. This year in various postal circles across the country approximately 45,500 Recruitment will be done on more than 100 posts. 4. Selection Process: How will the merit list be prepared? (Selection Process)
There is no secret formula for selection in GDS Recruitment, everything is transparent:
Merit List: An auto-generated merit list is prepared based on your 10th class marks.
Document Verification: After the name appears in the list, the selected candidates have to reach the concerned division office with the original documents.
Training: After successful verification, 15 days basic training is given. Will those with 70-80% marks be selected?
Since there is no examination, the cut-off remains quite high. Last year, the cut-off had gone above 95% in many circles. However, in some circles of North-Eastern states and rural areas, candidates with 80% to 85% also get a chance.
