Good News! Salary of central employees will increase again, know who will get the benefit?

The central government has given great news for its employees. Now the limit of higher allowances and hostel subsidy for children's education has been increased for Central Government employees. Recently the Central Government has also increased the dearness allowance. After this, before the announcement of elections, many state governments also announced increase in DA for their employees. The increased DA has come into effect from January 1, 2024.

Increase in education allowance due to DA

The Personnel Ministry, in an order on Monday, informed about increasing the limit of education allowance and hostel subsidy. Citing the 2018 guidelines, the ministry said the order provides that whenever there is an increase in dearness allowance by 50 per cent in the revised pay, the limit of children's education allowance and hostel subsidy will naturally increase by 25 per cent. The ministry said that in view of the increase in dearness allowance of central employees from January 1, 2024, information is being sought about the amount of children's education allowance and hostel subsidy.

Increase in education allowance and hostel subsidy

Now the reimbursement of children's education allowance will be Rs 2,812.5 per month and hostel subsidy will be Rs 8,437.5 per month, irrespective of the actual expenditure incurred by the government employees, the Personnel Ministry said in its order. Apart from this, change in the amount in special circumstances has also been mentioned.

HRA also increased along with dearness allowance

Before Holi, the central government had increased the dearness allowance of government employees and pensioners from 46 percent to 50 percent. This decision was taken in the cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This dearness allowance was extended from January 1 to June 30, 2024. Along with this, the House Rent Allowance (HRA) of central employees has also been increased. Now HRA has increased to 30 percent, 20 percent and 10 percent.
