
Jaipur Serial Blast 2008 Case: The special court convicted four accused in the 2008 Jaipur serial bomb blast and sentenced him to life imprisonment. The special court convicted all the four accused last Friday. All four accused were involved in the living bomb case. After 17 years, he has been sentenced to life imprisonment.
Special court judge Ramesh Kumar Joshi sentenced Saifur Rahman, Mohammad Saif, Mohammad Sarwar Azmi and Shahbaz Ahmed to life imprisonment in the Jaipur serial bomb blast case. In the live bomb case found in the Jaipur bomb blast, the special court sentenced these four to life imprisonment.
The defense counsel argued that the accused was in jail for 15 years. Three of these were acquitted in eight cases. The special court rejected these arguments and decided to punish the maximum.
Eight bomb blasts in Jaipur
On 13 May 2008, there were eight bomb blasts in Jaipur. In which a live bomb was found near a temple in Chandpol Bazaar. Which was later deactivated. Out of these four accused, three were sentenced to death in eight other cases related to the Jaipur bomb blast, except Shahbaz. But in March 2023, the Rajasthan High Court acquitted all the accused in the absence of evidence. The government filed a petition in the Supreme Court challenging the High Court order. Whose case is still pending.
