News India Live, Digital Desk: The National Board of Examination in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has announced the results of the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) January 2026 session. This result has been quite shocking for thousands of doctors who dream of practicing in India after taking MBBS degree from abroad. This time the level of examination was so difficult that only 23.37 percent Only the candidates have been able to taste success, while a large number of students have failed.
Competition was tough: out of 43 thousand only 10 thousand were successful

Of these only 10,264 candidates Have been able to achieve only passing mark (150/300). Whereas, 32,604 candidates could not pass the examination. The Commission has released the result in PDF format, which contains details of the roll numbers of the successful candidates and the marks obtained by them.
When and where to download the scorecard?
After the release of the result, now the candidates are waiting for their individual scorecard. The Board has clarified that:
Scorecard release date: On or after 6 February 2026.
Download duration: The scorecard will be available on the website only for 6 months.

Next step after passing: Physical verification
Passing the FMGE exam is only the first step. Successful candidates are now eligible to obtain license to practice from the National Medical Commission (NMC). ‘In-person’ document verification Will have to go through the process. NBEMS will soon release the schedule for this. Only after the verification is successful, the candidates will be given a ‘pass certificate’, on the basis of which they will be able to register themselves with the State Medical Council.
