The plane had to make an emergency landing at Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan International Airport after the left engine caught fire. Flight BHA953 took off from Tribhuvan International Airport at 10:37 am local time for Chandragadi. The flight then made a VOR landing after the aircraft’s left engine caught fire and returned safely to Tribhuvan International Airport. The flight made an emergency landing at 11:15 am.

There were 72 passengers and 4 crew members on board the aircraft. According to the information so far, there is no news of any casualty after the emergency landing. Everyone is safe. Buddha Airlines said on its social media handle that it was also informed that the aircraft made a safe landing at Tribhuvan International Airport at 11.15 am. However, due to safety concerns, Tribhuvan International temporarily halted the remaining flight operations during the landing of the Buddha Air flight.

Earlier on 24 July 2024, a dangerous plane accident had occurred in Nepal. A domestic plane carrying 19 people skidded off the runway while attempting to take off from the airport in Nepal’s capital Kathmandu and crashed, killing at least 18 passengers, including a Yemeni national and a child. The pilot was also seriously injured in the accident.
