First Foreign Tour of the Third Innings: PM Modi arrives G7, India’s voice will resonate among big leaders of the world

News India Live, Digital Desk: First Foreign Tour of the Third Innings: After taking oath of Prime Minister for the third consecutive time, Narendra Modi has left for his first and very important foreign tour. His destination is Italy, where the G7 group of seven largest and developed economies in the world is holding its annual meeting.

This tour is special because India is not a member of G7, but we have been invited as a ‘outreach country’ i.e. a special guest. This shows India’s growing global stature and its importance that the world’s most powerful countries want to hear the opinion of India today.

What issues will be talked about?

The agenda of this summit is very large. It will discuss issues ranging from the future of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to energy security and development of Africa. Also, these big leaders of the world will try to find solutions on global crises such as Russia-Ukraine war and ongoing tension in the Middle East. Prime Minister Modi will place India’s view on this platform, which is based on the principle of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’.

Will meet big leaders

During the visit, Prime Minister Modi’s meeting is expected to meet many world leaders like Host country Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni besides US President Joe Biden, French President Emmanuel Macron, British PM Rishi Sunak and Japanese PM Kishida. These meetings are a great opportunity to strengthen bilateral relations and laying the foundation of new partnerships.

Cyprus and Croatia tour after G7

After attending the G7 summit in Italy, Prime Minister Modi will also visit two other important countries of Europe, Cyprus and Croatia. This step shows that India wants to deepen its relations not only with great powers, but also with other countries of Europe.

Overall, this first foreign tour of PM Modi gives a message to the world that India is fully prepared to fulfill its responsibilities on a global stage with a new energy.
