First commercial flight ready to take off from Jewar Airport: Journey will start from June 15, all arrangements tested in final rehearsal

According to the latest information given by the airport administration, 15 June 2026 The first commercial flight will officially take off from here. Just before this historic start, final trials of all the arrangements related to the safety of passengers and their comfortable journey are being carried out in detail at the airport.

Full-scale trials mimic ‘real’ flights

Recently a very large and spacious airport complex ‘Full Scale Aircraft Turnaround Trial’ Was organized. This rehearsal was done so that when the passengers come here on the first day on June 15, they do not have to face any kind of technical or practical problem.

During this trial, the entire chain from a common passenger entering the airport, checking his luggage and taking off and landing the aircraft from the runway was tested.

These major systems were successfully tested:

  • Integrated Digital Platform: The speed and efficiency of the airport’s main terminals, warehouses, tracking infrastructure and modern digital cargo systems were tested by connecting them on a single platform.

  • Passenger Flow: Crowd handling capacity at check-in counters, boarding gates, automatic baggage handling systems (baggage belts) and security check counters was assessed.

  • Security guard: Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel completed the security rehearsal of all the entry points, sensitive areas and high-tech surveillance system (CCTV network) of the airport.

What did the Union Civil Aviation Minister say?

Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu has also expressed happiness over this successful rehearsal. While sharing the information with the countrymen through social media, he said that the Noida International Airport built in Jewar is completely ready for its first commercial flight. He clarified that all the parameters related to passenger boarding bridge, ground handling, catering and cargo operations have been found to be completely successful on the basis of safety and speed.

New ‘cargo hub’ will boost trade potential

Jewar Airport will not only become a means of transportation for passengers, but it is also going to become a huge business hub of North India. In collaboration with Air India SATS, a very modern cargo hub has been developed here on about 30 acres.

The initial capacity of this hub is to handle 2.5 lakh metric tonnes of goods annually. In future, as factories and trade grow, the scope of this cargo hub will be expanded further, which will directly benefit the exporters of Western UP.

In the initial few days, domestic flights will be operated for main big cities of the country. Immediately after this, the schedule of international flights will also be released. With the full operation of this airport, the pressure on Delhi’s IGI Airport will reduce significantly. Besides, thousands of new avenues of real estate, tourism and employment will open in areas like Noida, Greater Noida, Ghaziabad and Aligarh.
