Relief news has emerged for crores of employed people associated with the Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO). After getting the green signal from the Central Government, EPFO has decided for the financial year 2025-26. 8.25 percent Has started sending interest money at the rate of Rs. 10,000 to the accounts of the subscribers. The organization started the process of crediting this amount more than a week ago, after which information is continuously reaching the mobile phones of many members through SMS.
If you haven’t received the message yet, don’t worry.
If you have not yet received the interest credit SMS or do not see the amount in the passbook, then you do not need to be worried at all. According to financial experts and officials, EPFO does not transfer funds to all accounts across the country simultaneously. To maintain transparency in the accounts of crores of shareholders, this money is being sent in different phases i.e. ‘batches’. Due to this process, money starts appearing in the accounts of some people earlier, while it may take a few days for the passbook of other members to be updated.
What to do if balance is not updated? Know the advice of experts
According to Gurugram-based financial expert and CA Abhishek Aneja, if the interest amount is still not showing in your EPF account, instead of panicking, double-check some important information:
-
UAN and KYC Status: First of all, check your KYC status by logging into your UAN portal.
-
Company Contribution: Ensure that every month’s PF contribution is deposited on time by your employer (company).
-
View EPF Passbook Online: Many times SMS comes late on mobile, but interest is already added in the online EPF passbook.
If the interest is not updated for a long time despite all these things being correct, then you can go to the official online grievance redressal portal of EPFO (EPFiGMS) You can easily register your complaint by visiting.
The interest for the entire year is credited together.
As per EPFO rules, interest on contributions deposited every month is calculated on a monthly basis, but it is added to the account together at the end of the entire financial year. This time the organization has started interest crediting much earlier than previous years. In such a situation, those members whose balance has not increased yet are advised to wait for a few days.
