During this period, essential services including medical care will continue. Punjab is closed today in support of farmers’ agitation regarding 13 demands including MSP guarantee law for crops. Roads are closed at 200 places in Punjab. Farmers are sitting on Jalandhar-Delhi National Highway and Amritsar-Delhi Highway. Airport Road has been blocked in Mohali. Around 600 policemen have been deployed to maintain law and order in Mohali district of Punjab. Senior police officers are closely monitoring the situation.
Religious and social organizations also supported the bandh
Many religious and social organizations including SGPC have also supported the bandh. A farmer leader says that emergency services will continue during the Punjab bandh. Apart from this, no person going to the wedding ceremony or family will be stopped. Schools are already closed in Punjab due to winter holidays. Due to the strike, Punjab University has decided to conduct the examination on Tuesday instead of Monday. Organizations associated with bus services have said that services will be restored after 4 pm on Monday.

Officials of DRM office Firozpur said that railway passengers will continue to get information about the affected trains. Farmer leaders in Khanauri said they are following the Gandhian path to continue their protest and it is up to the government whether it wants to use force to remove their leader or not.
