‘Dry cold’ increases problems in Uttarakhand, know when will you get relief?:

This winter is showing a different form in Uttarakhand. Due to lack of rain here, ‘dry cold’ has made the condition of the people miserable. From the mountains to the plains, it is so bitterly cold in the morning and evening that it has become difficult for people to leave their homes.

The Meteorological Department says that this trend is not going to end yet, because unless there is good rain or snowfall in the mountains, there is no hope of getting relief from this dry cold. The worst effect of this weather is on people’s health. Dry cold has increased the risk of cough, cold and respiratory diseases.

Treacherous weather: hot during the day, bad at night

The biggest hallmark of this dry cold is the huge difference in day and night temperatures. Due to strong sunlight during the day, the weather seems normal, but as the sun sets, the mercury drops rapidly and the chill increases.

  • Condition of Dehradun: Just look at Thursday, the maximum day temperature in Dehradun was 27.4°C, two degrees more than normal, but the minimum temperature at night came down to 11.4°C. Today, even on Friday, the day temperature is expected to be around 27 degrees, while the night temperature may drop to 10 degrees.

How will be the weather in your city today?

According to the Meteorological Department, today i.e. on November 21, the weather will remain dry in the entire state. In the plain districts like Dehradun, Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar, fog or mist has started appearing in the morning, due to which the visibility has reduced and the cold of the morning is being felt even more.

What is the situation in the mountains?

The nights have become quite cold in the hilly areas. The temperatures in major hill towns on Thursday were like this:

  • Mukteshwar: Max 17.8°C | minimum 5.9°C
  • New Tehri: Maximum 17.7°C | minimum 6.2°C

It is clear that the night temperature in the mountains is reaching around 6 degrees, which is a sign of severe cold. The Meteorological Department has advised people, especially children and the elderly, to take special precautions to avoid the cold of morning and evening.
