Donate these holy things on the day of Papankusha Ekadashi.

In Sanatan Dharma, the place of Ekadashi date in the series of fasts and festivals is considered very sacred and supreme. Ekadashi of Shukla Paksha of Ashwin month is known as Papankusha Ekadashi, which is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. According to religious beliefs, by observing this holy fast, all types of sins of a person are destroyed and he attains Vaikuntha world after death. The literal meaning of Papankusha Ekadashi is – the date which curbs sins i.e. the date which eliminates the effects of wrong deeds done unknowingly in life. On this day, along with worshiping Lord Shri Hari Vishnu, there is a special tradition of doing charity. According to ancient texts and Padma Purana, donations made on Ekadashi provide many times more results than donations made on normal days. If you also want to receive special blessings of God on the occasion of Papankusha Ekadashi this year, then donating some special things on this day can prove to be extremely beneficial for you and your family. Let us know in detail which things donation has been described as most effective and beneficial in Padma Purana.

In Hindu religious scriptures and especially in Padma Purana, donating food has been termed as the best of all donations i.e. Mahadan. Donating food to a needy, poor or hungry person on the holy occasion of Papankusha Ekadashi greatly pleases Lord Vishnu and Mother Lakshmi. Donating food includes giving wheat, rice, pulses, flour or food to any deserving Brahmin. It is believed that the person who feeds food to the hungry on the day of Ekadashi, there is never any shortage of food and money in his house. Devotees observing fast on this day should take out a part of their capacity and distribute grains among the needy as per their capacity. By doing this, not only the souls of the ancestors get peace, but with the blessings of God, happiness, prosperity and blessings always reside in the family. It is even said in the scriptures that by donating food, a person’s sins accumulated over many births are removed and he attains mental and spiritual peace.

Along with donating food, donating clothes and donating clothes on the day of Papankusha Ekadashi is also considered of utmost importance. Donating warm clothes, blankets or simple garments to the needy before the changing seasons or arrival of winter is considered a very virtuous act. Donating clothes increases the comforts and luxuries in a person’s life and also provides relief from the adverse effects of the planet Saturn. Apart from this, in our ancient texts ‘secret donation’ i.e. such donation has been described as the best in which the person giving donation does not even let his right hand know about the donation given with his left hand. On the day of Papankusha Ekadashi, helping a poor person, helping a girl in her marriage or secretly gifting useful material to the temple can remove all the troubles of your life. It is clearly mentioned in Padma Purana that those who stay away from ostentation and do charity work secretly, they are showered with the immense blessings of Lord Vishnu, the creator of the world, and all the paths of their life become easy.

The full fruit of any fast is achieved only when it is completed with correct rules and regulations. On the day of Papankusha Ekadashi, after waking up early in the morning and taking bath, one should pledge to fast in front of Lord Vishnu and remember the name of Hari with sattvik thoughts in mind throughout the day. While donating, keep in mind that the items should always be clean and of good quality, broken or damaged items should never be donated. Donation should always be given with humility and only to a deserving person so that one can get real benefit from it. The fast of Ekadashi is considered completed only after it is observed on the next i.e. Dwadashi Tithi in an auspicious time. Before performing Parana, one should satisfy the Brahmins or the needy by giving them food and donations, and only then one should consume the food. If you follow all these religious rules and traditions of charity with full devotion, all the obstacles coming in your life will be removed and by the grace of Lord Vishnu, happiness, peace and prosperity will reside permanently in your home.
