Viral News: Shocking news often comes out on social media which is difficult to believe. A shocking incident has come to light in America’s Kentucky state, where a person who was declared brain dead suddenly came alive on the operation table. This incident happened when doctors were preparing to remove his heart.
During the operation, tears started flowing from the man’s eyes. This sudden incident created a stir in the operation theater and the nurses present there ran out in fear.
declared brain dead
The incident occurred at Baptist Health Richmond Hospital in October 2021. Patient Anthony Thomas ‘TJ’ Hoover II was admitted for a drug overdose. Doctors declared him brain dead and prepared for the operation for organ donation. But Hoover’s sudden return shocked doctors and family.
Tears started flowing from the eyes of the dead body
As part of the organ donation process, Dr. Hoover was going to remove his heart. But as soon as the operation started, the staff noticed that tears were forming in his eyes and his body started trembling slightly. Natasha Miller, an employee of the organ preservation team, said that after seeing this, the doctors involved in the operation immediately retreated.
Family members claim
TJ’s sister, Donna Rohrer, said that as her brother was being wheeled into the operating theatre, he opened his eyes and looked around. However, doctors said it was just a normal physical reaction and not a sign of life. Nevertheless, the experience was very upsetting for the family.
Organ donation process has been canceled
After TJ showed signs of life, the operation was immediately stopped and the organ donation procedure was cancelled. Several members of the Kentucky Organ Donor Affiliates (KODA) team have resigned following the incident. However, Koda has denied allegations of ordering organ harvesting from a living patient.
The patient is slowly recovering
After this incident, the State Attorney General of Kentucky and the Federal Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) have started investigating the matter. TJ is now living with her sister and is slowly recovering. However, he continues to have some problems with walking, speaking and memory.
