Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the state’s longest and most awaited Ganga Expressway Grand inauguration of. This 594 km long highway will not only connect western Uttar Pradesh with eastern UP, but will also act as a ‘growth engine’ for the state’s economy. With the launch of this expressway, now only one hour is required to cover the distance between Meerut and Prayagraj. 6 hours It will take time, which earlier used to take 12 to 14 hours.
Fate of 12 districts will change: Complete route map of expressway Ganga Expressway passes through 12 important districts of Uttar Pradesh. It starts from Bijauli village of Meerut and ends at Judapur Dandu village of Prayagraj. In between are districts like Hapur, Bulandshahr, Amroha, Sambhal, Badaun, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Unnao, Rae Bareli and Pratapgarh. ‘Industrial clusters’ are being developed along the expressways in all these districts, which will create lakhs of employment opportunities at the local level.

Speed and Security: The expressway is designed for a speed of 120 km/h. Advanced traffic management system has been installed on the entire road.
Emergency Airstrip: A 3.5 km long airstrip has been built in Shahjahanpur, so that in case of war or emergency, IAF fighter planes (like Sukhoi and Mirage) can land here.
Longest Expressway of UP: With a length of 594 kilometres, it is currently the longest operational expressway in Uttar Pradesh.
Network of Connectivity: This expressway will be interlinked with Delhi-Meerut Expressway, Purvanchal Expressway and Agra-Lucknow Expressway, which will make travel across North India easier.
Care for the environment: More than 18 lakh trees have been planted on both sides of the expressway and solar powered street lights have been used.
