India-France Defense Deal: India and France are close to a large defense deal, under which a joint development of 120 Kn Jet Engine will be done at a cost of Rs 61,000 crore. This engine will be used in Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft AMCA and Indian Multirol helicopter IMRH. The deal will strengthen India’s defense capabilities and realize the dream of self -sufficient India.

AMCA and IMRH: What are these projects?

AMCA Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft: It is India’s fifth generation stealth fighter aircraft, designed and developed by DRDO. This aircraft can escape at a fast pace by avoiding the enemy radar.

IMRH Indian multipurpose helicopter: Developed by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), this helicopter weighing more than 12 tons will be multi -purpose operating for the army, including attack, transport and VIP flights.

Importance of partnership with France

India wanted to become self -sufficient in making engines of fighter aircraft and helicopters for a long time. Currently, most engines are imported from abroad, which can affect defense preparations. This agreement with France will solve this problem. With this cooperation, India will transfer advanced technology, which will give it the ability to make indigenous engines in future.

Rs 61,000 crore project

The project will create a powerful engine of 120 Kn, which will provide AMCA Supercruz fast and stealth capabilities. The technical committee has closely examined every aspect of design, production and testing. HAL and French companies will jointly manufacture this engine, which will help India learn new technology.

HAL role

India’s leading aerospace organization will play an important role in developing engines for HAL, IMRH and AMCA. These helicopters and fighter aircraft will further strengthen the Indian Army. HAL’s technical expertise will help make this project a success.

How will this deal work?

Co-development: India and France will jointly design, test and produce the engine.

Technology transfer: France will teach India advanced technology, paving the way for indigenous engine manufacture.

Time and Cost: There is a plan to complete the Rs 61,000 crore project soon.

Effect on future

This deal will make India self -sufficient in the defense sector. Advanced platforms like AMCA and IMRH will increase the strength of the Indian Army. In addition, the project can also open the engine export international market for India. This alliance with France will take India-France defense relations to a new height.
