News India Live, Digital Desk: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested a Kashmiri man, named Aamir Rashid Ali, in connection with a car bomb blast near the historic Red Fort in Delhi. This arrest is being considered a major success in the investigation of the case. Who is Aamir Rashid Ali?
Aamir Rashid Ali is a resident of Samboora in Pampore area of Jammu and Kashmir. According to NIA, Aamir was part of a bigger conspiracy to terrorize Delhi. It is alleged that he had helped Dr. Omar Un Nabi, the main accused in the car blast near the Red Fort and alleged suicide bomber.
What was your role in the blast conspiracy?
NIA investigation has revealed that an old Hyundai i20 car was used to carry out the blast, which was converted into a kind of “Vehicle Packed with Explosives” (VBIED). The investigating agency claims that this car was registered in the name of Aamir Rashid Ali.
It is alleged that Aamir had come to Delhi specifically to help in the entire process of purchasing this car. Later, the blast was carried out by planting explosives in the same car.
Professor turns out to be a suicide bomber
The most shocking aspect of this case is that the main accused in the blast, Dr. Umar Un Nabi, was a resident of Pulwama and worked as an assistant professor at Al Falah University, Faridabad. Forensic investigation has proved that Umar was driving the car at the time of the blast and he died in this incident.
How was Aamir caught?
A few hours after the blast near the Red Fort on November 10, Jammu and Kashmir Police took Aamir into custody from Pampore. Later, considering the seriousness of the case, it was handed over to NIA. NIA has formally arrested Aamir Rashid Ali in Delhi and now he is being interrogated further so that more people behind this terrorist attack can be traced.
Aamir’s arrest has made it clear that the roots of this attack are deep and educated people were also involved in it, which makes it even more dangerous.
