Its main objective is to prepare an accurate outline of the living standards and basic needs of the citizens.

1st May to 15th May 2026: Citizens will be able to enter their own and their family’s information by logging in to a dedicated portal.
16 May to 14 June 2026: Government enumerators will go door-to-door to collate and verify the data. For those who have not done the self-census, their data will be recorded by the enumerators themselves on the spot.
Strictness in training: action will be taken if absent The officials in charge at the training centers of Barhi and Ichak have made it clear that census is a nation-building task and any kind of negligence will not be tolerated in it. Strict disciplinary action has been warned against those enumerators or supervisors who remain absent in the training camp. Similar training sessions are being organized in different phases from May 7 to 9 in many other blocks of Ranchi including Itki and Khalari.
A big step towards Digital India In this census ‘HLO App’ is being used, due to which the data will be uploaded directly to the server. This will not only save time, but will also reduce the possibility of human error in the data. The Jharkhand government has clarified that no changes will be made in the boundaries of any administrative unit or jurisdiction of the state during this process, so that the data collection can be completed seamlessly.
