Ajmer: A petition has been filed in the local court claiming that there is a Sankat Mochan Mahadev Temple in the premises of Rajasthan’s famous Ajmer Sharif Dargah. The court has accepted this application and sent a notice to the Dargah Management Committee seeking its reply.

The petition was filed by Vishnu Gupta of a Hindu organization. Which the court accepted for hearing.

The petitioner claims that the Mahadev temple is located here, hence the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) should be ordered to conduct a scientific survey of the entire temple.

The court has now issued notice to the Dargah Committee, Minority Ministry and ASI and sought their response. Earlier, on behalf of the same petitioner, an application was filed in the Ajmer court demanding to declare Ajmer Dargah as a Shiva temple, however, the court had refused to hear the application. After which a new application was filed in which a survey of the religious place has been demanded. The court has now sent a notice to all the parties seeking their response, now the further hearing of this case will be held on December 20.
