Children aged 0-5 years will be covered with pulse polio dose

Dehradun, 19 February (HS). On Monday, under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Sonika, a meeting was held in the Collectorate Auditorium regarding making the Pulse Polio campaign successful and providing doses to all children aged 0-5 years on Booth Day (March 3), and making all the facilities and arrangements at the polio booth.

The District Magistrate directed that no child should be deprived of pulse polio dose, for this, arrangements should be made on a large scale to cover the children. He said that a comprehensive plan should be prepared to administer polio vaccine to as many children as possible. The District Magistrate along with District Program Officer Child Development Jitendra Kumar directed the Anganwadi workers to participate 100 percent in the Pulse Polio campaign.

School students will motivate children to administer polio vaccine

The Electricity Department was asked to provide uninterrupted power supply and the Education Department was asked to keep the schools where booths are installed on Booth Day open on Sunday, March 3. At the same time, in prayer meetings in schools, students will be encouraged to come to the nearest booth to administer polio doses to children aged 0 to 5 years.

Village head and area panchayat members will promote in rural areas

The Development Department will promote the campaign in rural areas through village heads and area Panchayat members and will provide support to Pulse Polio workers. At the same time, the police department will provide assistance in administering medicines to children aged between 0 to 05 years visiting various places in the district. Instructions were also given to the Information Department for publicity.

Target to administer pulse polio dose to 2.33 lakh children

Chief Medical Officer Dr. Sanjay Jain said that a target has been set to administer pulse polio dose to 2,33,500 children aged 0-05 years in the district. In this, doses will be given at the booth on March 3 and door-to-door from March 4 to March 9.

1501 booths were made, 339 observers deployed

1501 booths have been made in the district to administer pulse polio doses. These include fixed booths 1403, transit booths 72, mobile booths 26. 339 supervisors, 1360 teams and 94 transit teams and 38 mobile teams have been deployed to provide door-to-door drops for the programme.
