News India Live, Digital Desk: If you were trying to design a poster, edit YouTube thumbnail or complete the client pitch using Canva today, then you are likely to get into trouble. The popular online design platform caused a sudden disruption on Monday, unable to reach the user site or load its saved project. The disturbance took place some time in the day and continued till noon, which disappointed the creators dependent on the platform daily.
This problem was not saved from anyone’s eyes. In a few minutes, users in India and other parts of the world started sharing their experience on social media. On X (first Twitter), “Canva Down” began to trend, where users turned their resentment into fun and started posting mimes about their stopped project and incomplete deadline.
More than 1,400 outage reports on the dowdatector
According to the outage tracking platform downdetector.in, more than 1,400 reports of Canva’s downs were filed. Most of the users reported that they were not able to load Canva homepage, while other users reported that their saved designs were not opening or export features were not working. Many people said that they were stuck on the loading screen or they were getting a timeout error while trying to access the app or website.
This is not the first time Canva has faced technical problems, but this mess on Monday shocked many people. This affected both the desktop and mobile users and this occurred at a time when the creators were in the middle of their work. From the social media manager to the students working on the school project, many people kept watching the empty screen.
No anger on the Internet, the reaction of humor
Although disappointment was real, most of the reactions were funny. The X was flooded with meme posts, in which the users were “Reloing Canva for the 100th time” or joking in joking that “Canva also took leave.” Some people also posted screenshots of their unfinished project, whose title was “RIP presentation.”
For many people, it is reminiscent of how much we have become dependent on cloud-based equipment. When they stop even for an hour, the work stops. Canva has not released any detailed updates at the time of writing, but users are expecting that the general service will start soon.
