
An Air India flight coming from Mumbai received a bomb threat on Thursday. Following this, a full emergency was declared at the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport. According to airport sources, the plane landed at the airport around 8 am. There were 135 passengers on board and the plane was taken to the isolation bay.
People associated with the matter said that at 8.44 am the passengers were safely evacuated from the plane (AI 657). As soon as the plane reached Thiruvananthapuram airport, the pilot reported a bomb threat. The airport was informed about the matter at 7.30 am. After this, a full emergency was declared at the airport at 7.36 am.
According to sources, all passengers and crew have been evacuated from the plane and all are safe. There is no operational disruption at the airport. It is not yet known who gave the threat and how? The matter is being investigated.
