1. Om Birla’s address: ‘The House is for discussion, not for noise’
Addressing the MLAs, the Lok Sabha Speaker said that the history of Bihar Assembly is more than 100 years old and rich. He emphasized some key points:
Dignity of the House: He said that disagreement in the House is part of democracy, but deadlock and noise cause harm to the public.
Leadership of Bihar: He reminded that the democratic tradition that started from Vaishali is still the basis of India’s parliamentary system.
Use of technology: He praised the efforts of ‘digitalization’ of Bihar Assembly.
2. Nitish and Tejashwi on one stage
The courtesy call between Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Tejashwi Yadav during the program also made headlines. While congratulating on the Foundation Day, Nitish Kumar praised the role of the House in the development of Bihar. At the same time, Tejashwi Yadav talked about proper use of the time of the House to discuss the burning problems of the state.

The first meeting of the Bihar and Orissa Provincial Council was held on 7 February 1921. From then till today, this House has been witness to many historic decisions. Today is a day to remember the democratic values that laid the foundation of modern Bihar.
