Nashik. The alleged conversion and sexual harassment case that came to light in the Nashik BPO center of IT sector giant Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has shocked the entire country. The most talked about face in this case is that of the alleged ‘HR head’ Nida Khan, who is currently out of the reach of the police. Religious Dress Code: Nida Khan allegedly forced female employees to dress according to Islamic traditions.
Pressure to convert: Employees were mentally harassed for offering namaz, changing their eating habits and adopting religious symbols.
sexual harassment: It is alleged that an organized group used to sexually exploit and mentally harass selected employees.
Game of ‘targeting’ through WhatsApp group
Police investigation has also revealed a ‘secret’ WhatsApp group. It is being claimed that through this group, employees were targeted and then pressure was put on them for conversion or harassment. Nida Khan is also said to be an active member of this group.
7 arrested so far, defense of accused Shahrukh’s wife
Police till now in this high-profile case Danish Sheikh, Tausif Attar, Raza Memon, Shahrukh Qureshi, Shafi Sheikh and Asif Ansari. Including seven people have been arrested. The company has also suspended all of them.
On the other hand, the wife of arrested accused Shahrukh Qureshi has completely rejected these allegations. While talking to ‘Aaj Tak’ he said:
“Any allegations like conversion or racket are not true. The FIR only mentions jokes or conversations. If this was happening for 4 years, why did no one complain earlier? All this is just an attempt to defame our family and create mental pressure.”
Legal complications and SIT action
Maharashtra’s Special Investigation Team (SIT) is closely investigating every aspect of this case. Police officials say they are also examining digital evidence and bank transactions to find out if this ‘conversion racket’ was getting funding from somewhere else. At present, the arrest of Nida Khan remains the biggest challenge for the police.
