Dr. Mohammed Imtiaz (who is also known as Noorani), who came into limelight after being given ticket by Jan Suraj Party from Darbhanga Graduate Constituency, is originally a resident of Bisfi block area under Madhubani district of Bihar. Dr. Noorani, about 49 years old, is a physician by profession as well as a well-known businessman and active social worker. He has been associated with various social and public welfare activities in his locality for a long time. Keeping in view his image as an enlightened professional and doctor, Jan Suraj Party has taken an important decision to field him among the well-educated voters of the graduate constituency. His strong hold at the local level and clean image is being considered a major basis for this change.
Jan Suraj Party had earlier released its first list on September 20, in which Ravindra Yadav was made the candidate from Darbhanga Graduate seat. Ravindra Yadav had left Janata Dal United (JDU) some time ago and joined Jan Suraj and had assumed the responsibility of State Secretary in JDU. However, after the announcement of the ticket, discussions regarding his old cases and controversies intensified on social media. Although no official or detailed reason has been given by the party regarding the cancellation of ticket, but political experts believe that Jan Suraj Party is very cautious about its initial image and is taking strict decisions immediately to avoid any kind of controversy. Earlier, the party had to change its candidate in Tirhut teacher constituency also.
Voting for these 8 seats of Bihar Legislative Council has been scheduled on 23rd October, for which all the parties are putting in their full strength. Jan Suraj Party is contesting the elections alone on all these seats and is continuously going among the public and giving the message of change. The party has tried to give a new message by fielding Dr. Mohammad Imtiaz Noorani from Darbhanga Graduate constituency.
