News India Live, Digital Desk: The country’s politics has come to a boil regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent visit to Israel. AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has expressed strong objection to this visit and has put the central government and PM Modi in the dock. Owaisi not only raised questions on the timing of this visit, but also sharply criticized India’s stand regarding the situation in Gaza.
“Iran will attack as soon as it leaves Israel” – Owaisi’s claim
Owaisi made a very shocking claim and said that as soon as Prime Minister Modi leaves Israel, Iran can launch a major attack there. Citing the increasing military activity and tension in the region, he described the PM’s visit as a visit in ‘unstable times’. Owaisi was referring to the severe tension going on in the Middle East, where there are chances of a direct war between Iran and Israel.
Questions over Prime Minister’s silence on Gaza massacre
The Hyderabad MP took aim at PM Modi’s pictures and meetings with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He said:
Reference to humanity: Owaisi alleged that when thousands of innocent children and civilians are being killed in Gaza, then why is the Prime Minister of India not giving any concrete message to stop the ‘genocide’ there?
Hamas and Israel: Owaisi clarified that although India understands the pain of Hamas attacks, it should not mean that it should turn a blind eye to the atrocities being committed on Palestinians.
PM Modi’s emotional speech in Israeli Parliament
It is noteworthy that while addressing the Israeli Parliament (Knesset), Prime Minister Modi had mentioned the ’emotional and historical relations’ between India and Israel. He had said that he was born on the same day when India started a new beginning in its diplomatic relations with Israel. The PM had also shown India’s solidarity with the Hamas attack, which Owaisi termed as a one-sided approach.
Regional tensions and India’s concerns
Experts believe that this visit of PM Modi is very important strategically and diplomatically, but opposition leaders like Owaisi argue that India should not retreat from its old policy of ‘non-alignment’ and ‘rights of Palestine’. Now everyone’s eyes are on how much truth is there in Owaisi’s claim of ‘Iranian attack’ and what stand India takes on this crisis in the Middle East in the coming days.
