BCCI invites applications for the post of head coach of men's team

New Delhi, May 14 (HS). The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) late on Monday invited applications for the post of head coach of the men's national team, whose tenure will begin from July 1 this year and end on December 31, 2027. The ODI World Cup is to be organized only in 2027.

India could not win the ICC Cricket World Cup on home soil after reaching the final in November last year. Current head coach Rahul Dravid was given an extension till June this year. Let us tell you that ICC T20 World Cup will be organized in West Indies and USA from June 1 to 29.

The last date of application will be till 6 pm on 27th May.

A BCCI statement said, “The BCCI on Monday invited applications for the post of head coach of the senior men's team. “Applications for this post should be submitted by 6 pm on May 27, 2024.”

The selection process will involve a thorough review of applications, followed by personal interviews and assessment of shortlisted candidates.

The qualifications set by BCCI for a potential head coach are as follows:

1- Has played at least 30 Test matches or 50 ODI matches or has been the head coach of a full member Test playing nation for a period of at least 2 years;

2- Must have been the head coach of an Associate Member/Indian Premier League (IPL) team or equivalent international league/first class team/ or national A teams for a minimum period of 3 years.

3- He must have BCCI Level 3 certification or equivalent; And age should be less than 60 years.
