The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has once again taken big and tough action against illegal mining and black coal business in the mineral-rich areas of Jharkhand. In connection with the investigation of land, illegal mining and money laundering cases in the state, the central agency has started raids simultaneously at more than 25 locations in Dhanbad, known as the coal capital, and its surrounding districts. In the early morning, when different teams of ED, accompanied by heavy security personnel of the central forces, knocked at the premises of suspected businessmen, transporters and people associated with the coal syndicate, there was a stir in the entire area.

The network of illegal syndicate extends from Dhanbad to Ranchi.

According to initial reports, this entire action is being taken on the basis of solid evidence of illegal coal mining, smuggling and related financial transactions going on in Jharkhand. Apart from many posh areas of Dhanbad, this simultaneous raid on the offices, residences and residences of coal businessmen and their close relatives has created panic among the people associated with the syndicate. ED teams are closely scrutinizing the documents, digital devices, bank account transactions and property related papers.
