Banks will also have their helpline number! ‘National calling number’ coming soon, customers will get this big facility

Banking sector in india: Banks in India will soon get a national calling number. Now banks are going to get such numbers on which customers will be able to call the bank and bank customers. The government will take this step to prevent increasing fraud call cases in the country. If this proposal applies, customers will be able to easily identify whether the call is fraud or real. Cases of phone fraud are likely to decrease significantly. This will make it easier for people to call the bank.

What is the situation now?

Currently, banks call customers with several outbound numbers of the 1600xx series, but many times customers are unable to call these numbers. These numbers are only for outgoing, that is, these numbers do not have incoming call facility.

Banks have proposed that every bank should get a unique national number which is of 1600xx series, but it should have outgoing as well as incoming call facility. In this way customers can talk to the bank and the bank can talk to the customer.

It is being told that banks have spoken to the Reserve Bank of India and Telecom Regulatory Authority on this subject. The banking sector hopes that a major decision will be taken soon.

Concern about recovery agents

Banks have also raised the issue of loan recovery. That is, some banks entrust loan recovery to the third party agent. In such a situation, will it be mandatory for these agents to use the 1600xx series? Banks have sought clear guidelines from RBI and TRAI.
