Badrinath and Kedarnath Dham doors closed in winter: Know complete information:

The holy pilgrimage centers of Uttarakhand and the doors of Kedarnath are going to close with the onset of winter. The doors of Badrinath Dham will be closed on 25 November 2025 at 2:56 pm. For this, punch puja will start from November 21, which are part of the Vedic tradition of closing the doors of the temple in winter.

At the same time, the doors of Kedarnath temple will be closed on 18 November 2025. These dates have been set on the basis of the Counting of Panchang in Omkareshwar Temple, Ukhimath on the holy festival of Vijayadashami. Religious rituals were performed on this occasion with Vedic chanting.

With this, the winter pilgrimage of the Tungnath temple will also start. On the basis of almanac census on the day of Vijayadashami, it has been decided that the doors of Tungnath will be closed on 6 November 2025. Lord Tungnath’s doli will depart for pilgrimage on 5 November. On 6 November, Doli Chopta will rest at the Nag place and reach Bhankun on 7 November. Finally, on 8 November 2025, Doli will enter the Tungnath temple in Mecca, where the Tungnath Festival will be held.

These three Dham is an important part of the Char Dham Yatra and the doors of these temples are closed every year due to heavy snowfall in winter. These dhams will reopen for the devotees when the journey resumes in summer.
