On the occasion of Independence Day, Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev expressed his views openly on the current situation of the country, the young generation i.e. Gen-Z, the political scenario and the education system. During this, on one hand he inspired the youth of the country to move forward in a positive direction, while on the other hand he made a sharp attack on the shortcomings of the education system and serious problems like paper leaks and even warned of a major movement. Baba Ramdev said in clear words that the youth of the country cannot be seen through a single lens, because there is a very large section of today’s young generation which is bringing glory to the country on the basis of their hard work and talent.
Ramdev’s comment on Gen-Ji’s working style and changing lifestyle
Talking about the youth, the Yoga Guru said that many Gen-Z youth of the country are doing excellent work and are reaching new heights, but at the same time there is a section of the youth which is increasingly getting attracted towards wrong habits and deviations. While presenting his views, he said that some youth are indulging in activities like violence, many are adopting modern lifestyle like making boyfriends or girlfriends, and are falling prey to bad addictions like consumption of beedis, cigarettes and alcohol. Baba Ramdev strongly condemned all these evils and called upon all the youth of the country to use their energy in positive works and make an important contribution in the development of the country by adopting good habits.
Political disappointment and taunt on PM post contenders
Talking about the current political environment of the country, Baba Ramdev took on all those opposition leaders and critics who often claim that nothing is going well in the country. Without taking names, he sarcastically said that some people have become completely politically frustrated and are only dreaming day and night of getting the chair of the Prime Minister. While advising such politicians, he said that if the people of the country want to make you the Prime Minister, then they themselves will give you this opportunity, hence the leaders should have some patience. Ramdev appealed to all political parties and their supporters to avoid attempts to create social divisions in the country on the basis of caste, class or any community. He believed that ideological and political opposition is a natural process, but this opposition should never turn into personal enmity or hatred.
Warning of agitation on poor condition of education system and paper leak
Expressing deep concern over the plight of the country’s education system, Baba Ramdev said in strong words that if the country’s schools and examination system were not reformed soon, he would not shy away from launching a major nationwide movement against it. Referring to schools in small and rural areas across the country, he pointed out how helpless the systems are where children are forced to drop out of school due to lack of qualified teachers, facilities like electricity, drinking water and basic toilets. Making a strong attack on the government examination system, he said that sometimes if there are books in schools, there are no teachers, and if there are teachers, the books are found missing. Moreover, even if everything goes well, exam papers get leaked, making the future of the students bleak.
Relevance of board exams and bias in government jobs
Taking his point forward, Baba Ramdev also raised serious questions on the relevance and utility of board examinations of classes 10th and 12th in today’s time. He said that in today’s era, admissions in colleges and higher educational institutions have become completely dependent on competitive entrance examinations, due to which unnecessary mental pressure on the tender minds of students is continuously increasing. He made a big allegation on the selection and interview process of government jobs and said that about 90 to 99 percent of the interviews conducted for government jobs are biased or full of discrimination, where only people of their own ideology, caste and identity are given unfair priority, ignoring the merit.
