News India Live, Digital Desk: Government of India taking a big step towards healthcare for senior citizens Ayushman Vy Vandana Yojana (AVVY) Has started Under this scheme launched in October 2024, all Indians aged 70 years and above will be given cashless health insurance up to Rs 5 lakh every year.

What is Vandana Card?

Ayushman Vy Vandana card provides annual health coverage of Rs 5 lakh to every Indian aged 70 years or above, no matter how much his income is or they have been part of any previous scheme. If you already fall under Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY, then you will get an additional Rs 5 lakh as the top-up. Other government or private health insurance people can also apply, but they have to select between their current plan and this new plan. Private insurance people are also eligible for profit.

Who can get it and what is involved in it? //

Every Indian citizen aged 70 years or above is automatically eligible for Ayushman Vy Vandana Card (AVVC). There is no income check in this and there is no exclusion for already existing diseases – coverage starts from day one. If you are already part of Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY scheme, then you will get an additional Rs 5 lakh as top-up. However, if you have a private or government health plan, you have to choose between your current coverage and this new scheme.

AVVC includes more than 1,961 medical procedures in 27 expertise, including cardiology, cancer care, kidney treatment, bone and joint surgery, and more. Some of the major remedies involved in this include dialysis, joint replacement, angiogram and pacemaker transplantation.

How to register for Ayushman Vy Vandana Card (in simple stages):

– Download the app: Install Ayushman Bharat App from Google Play Store.

– Login: Choose “Login as a beneficiary” or “operator”.

– Enter the details: Type your mobile number, captcha and choose the authentication method.

– Verify through OTP: Enter OTP sent on your phone and click on login.

– Enable the location: Allow the app to reach the location of your device.

– Fill the beneficiary information: Fill your state, Aadhaar number and other necessary information.

Not found ?: If the details are not found, complete the e-KYC using Aadhaar OTP.

Fill self-declaration: Enter and submit the required information.

Verify the mobile: Repeat your mobile number and verify the OTP.

Final Description: Submit your PIN code, social category and family member details.

Download Card: After E-KYC is approved, you can download Ayushman Vy Vandana Card.

Once issued, this card provides senior citizens of cashless treatment in more than 30,000 hospitals across India, including more than 13,000 private hospitals.

Under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme, free hospital service of more than Rs 1.29 lakh crore has been provided so far. With the addition of the Vy Vandana Yojana, the government hopes that this will expand coverage and improve healthcare experience for senior citizens.
