AIADMK-BJP relationship may join Tamil Nadu again, Palaniswami meets Amit Shah

Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi. Palaniswami met Union Home Minister Amit Shah at his residence on Tuesday. After this meeting, speculation has intensified that the alliance between AIADMK and BJP may be re -resurrected before the upcoming assembly elections in Tamil Nadu.

According to sources, during this meeting, many important issues including imposing Hindi in Tamil Nadu were discussed. Palaniswami apprised the Home Minister of AIADMK’s views and state situation.

AIADMK separated from BJP in 2023

In September 2023, AIADMK broke ties with BJP, because party leaders were given Tamil Nadu BJP chief K.K. Annamalai had objections to the aggressive political style. Subsequently, senior AIADMK leaders met BJP chief JP Nadda and expressed their displeasure over Annamalai’s statements.

Why did the possibilities of alliance increase?

AIADMK leaders have Dravidian leader C.N. Annamalai had demanded an apology for the comment made on Annadurai. However, recently Annamalai has reduced the criticism of AIADMK, which has increased the possibility of improving relations between the two parties.

If AIADMK and BJP form aligned again, they can challenge the ruling DMK (DMK) -led India alliance in Tamil Nadu.

Chief Minister Stalin criticized the center

On the other hand, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Tuesday took a tough stand on the language policy and financial injustice of the central government. During a discussion in the assembly, Stalin said that the Tamil Nadu government will stand on the Dual Language Policy (Tamil and English) and no change will be made.

Stalin said, “We will soon take concrete initiative to find a permanent solution to this issue.” He clarified that there would be no compromise on language policy.

Will AIADMK-BJP come together again?

After the meeting of Palaniswami and Shah, there are clear indications that political equations between the two parties may change. If this alliance is formed again, a big change can be seen in the politics of Tamil Nadu.
