Anuppur, March 4 (Hindustan Reporter) On the occasion of Mahashivratri festival, a 5-day Mahashivratri fair will be organized in the holy city of Amarkantak of the district from 7th to 11th March. Let it be known that Mahashivratri festival has been traditionally organized with full grandeur in Amarkantak for years. The fair will be organized this year also. Regarding necessary preparations and arrangements in this regard, a meeting was organized under the chairmanship of Collector Ashish Vashishtha in the Circuit House conference room located in Amarkantak.
In the meeting, District Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Tanmay Vashishtha Sharma, Additional Superintendent of Police Shivkumar Singh, SDM Pushprajgarh Deepak Pandey, Municipal Council Amarkantak President Parvati Singh, Vice President Rajju Singh Netam, councilors, representatives of temples and ashrams Ramgopal Dwivedi, Tehsildar Anupam Pandey, District Panchayat Chief Executive Officer S.K. Bajpai, Chief Municipal Officer Amarkantak Chain Singh Paraste, local dignitaries including councilors, district chief officers of various departments were present.
In the meeting, arrangements of fair grounds, establishment of control room, duty of executive magistrates, law and order, vehicle parking, passenger tax, cleanliness system, exhibition and cultural programs, health, drinking water, bonfire, urinals and toilets, were discussed in the meeting. After discussing in detail the arrangements regarding lighting system, pollution control, fire brigade, crane, ambulance, point wise responsibilities were handed over to the officers.
The Collector gave instructions to the officials regarding necessary arrangements for crowd control of the devotees coming to the fair. He said that electricity, law and order, drinking water, health system and all other necessary arrangements should be ensured for the fair. Officials should also ensure that polythene is not used in the entire fair area. Sign boards related to ban on use of plastic should be installed. Disaster response team of Home Guards should be deployed along with life jackets by earmarking a place for those taking bath in Narmada river. Instructions were given to arrange railing for the convenience of the visitors in the Maa Narmada temple complex and to conduct sampling of food items by the food safety team for the food quality in Amarkantak area.
