Lucknow, 21 August (HS). A delegation of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad met Minister of State for Minority Welfare Danish Azad and demanded the installation of a statue of Swami Vivekananda at Gate No. 3 of Lucknow University. Earlier, the workers of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad had raised the same demand by meeting the Vice Chancellor of Lucknow University.
The main activists of the Vidhyarthi Parishad say that Danish Azad is an alumnus of the university and has been giving lectures on the thoughts of Swami Vivekananda in the university. This is the reason why he has presented his demands by giving a memorandum to the state minister. The delegation of Vidhyarthi Parishad will reach out to other alumni of Lucknow University and will give them a memorandum in favor of installing the statue of Swami Vivekananda.
