China accuses the Philippines of: Many countries have now geared up against China's attempts to threaten South China. Now they are getting a befitting reply. China's coast guard has alleged that a Philippine ship deliberately rammed a Chinese ship near Sabina Shoal on Monday morning. The region has become a new issue in the growing territorial disputes between several countries in the South China Sea. In a statement on the Chinese coast guard website, a spokesperson said, 'Two ships of the Philippine coast guard entered the waters near the shoal, ignoring the warning of the Chinese coast guard and deliberately collided with the Chinese boat.

China warns Philippines

Philippine officials did not immediately comment on the clashes near the disputed area in the Spratly Islands, where Vietnam and Taiwan also claim territory. Chinese Coast Guard spokesman Gan Yu said, “The Philippine side is fully responsible for the clash. We warn the Philippines to immediately stop its violations and provocations, otherwise it will have to bear all the consequences arising.” This includes Sabina Shoal and its surrounding sea areas. The Chinese name for Sabina Shoal is Jianbin Reef.

There have been fights before

Sabina Shoal is located about 140 kilometers west of the Philippines' western island province of Palawan. It has become a new issue in the ongoing territorial disputes between China and the Philippines. In April, the Philippine Coast Guard deployed its flagship patrol ship, the BRP Teresa Magbanua, to Sabina. Then Philippine scientists discovered a submerged pile of crushed coral in its shallow waters. Due to which it was feared that China was preparing to build something here. The Chinese Coast Guard later also deployed a ship to Sabina.

Sabina is located near the Second Thomas Shoal, which is occupied by the Philippines. Tensions have been rising between Chinese and Philippine coast guard ships and their accompanying vessels since last year. China and the Philippines reached an agreement last month to prevent further conflict. A week after the agreement was signed, the Philippine Navy delivered food and troops. There have been no collisions since then.
