A helicopter crashed on the roof of a hotel in Queensland, Australia on Monday morning. Due to which a pilot on board the helicopter died. About 400 people were evacuated from the hotel after the helicopter caught fire. A couple staying in the hotel had to be hospitalized. The deceased pilot has not been identified yet. Police and fire department took action at the spot. During this, an official said that the purpose for which the helicopter was flown was not known, who gave permission to the helicopter to fly from Cairns airport carrying tourists.
Smoke spreads into the hotel
An officer of the Queensland Police Department said that due to the fire, smoke spread in the hotel, due to which a couple staying there had difficulty in breathing. Therefore, the couple was immediately admitted to the hospital. After treatment, the couple was discharged. The police department was not informed about any other casualties around the hotel. The administration has started investigating whether the person who was flying the helicopter had a pilot license or not.
A big thing came up
A government official claims there is no threat and we believe it was an isolated incident. The private company of the helicopter said in a written statement that the helicopter was flown illegally, but did not elaborate. An airport official said initial findings suggest there was no lapse in the airport's security system.
