Ranchi, August 11 (HS). Congress general secretary and Jharkhand in-charge Ghulam Mohammad Mir said on Sunday that in the Lok Sabha elections, BJP leaders had given the slogan of crossing 400 this time but the way the country has limited BJP to 240 seats, it is clear that the central government, which is walking on crutches, cannot deprive the Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Other Backward Classes (OBC) and Pasmanda of their rights and privileges for the next five years. Mir said that if by any mistake BJP had got the required number of seats in the Lok Sabha elections as per its dream, then reservation would have ended.

Addressing the function organized on World Tribal Day at Banhora Jatra Ground in the capital, Mir said that the Jharkhand government has done a lot of good work for the poor and a large number of people are taking advantage of the government's welfare and beneficial schemes for the poor and deprived. He especially discussed the more than 37 lakh applications received so far under the Chief Minister Maiya Samman Yojana and said that he has suggested to the government that on the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, from next August 20, even if symbolically, the Chief Minister Maiya Samman Yojana should be started and the money should start going into the accounts of women.

Mir said that Jharkhand does not need people coming from states like Madhya Pradesh and Assam and they are capable of solving their problems themselves. The Congress in-charge said that Congress is a huge and open-minded party and everyone is free to express their views and opinions. He called upon everyone to give their views for the Congress manifesto being prepared for the Jharkhand assembly elections, which is in the interest of Jharkhand and its people. Mir said that the BJP and its leaders care about power rather than Indian religion, culture and society. That is why it got success in the 2014 and 2019 elections, but in the 2024 elections, the voters defeated it in such a way that now the central government is forced to walk on crutches for the next 5 years.
