The BSF has issued an alert on the borders of its surveillance area. Security forces have been asked to keep a strict vigil to prevent infiltration.
DG took control of the situation
An official said that the BSF has been directed to maintain vigil on the 4,096 km long border. BSF Director General Daljit Singh Chaudhary and other senior officers along with him reached West Bengal to review India-Bangladesh border security and announced necessary guidelines after a meeting with top officials. The DG also visited the border of North 24 Parganas district.
