A road has been damaged due to cloudburst in Ganderbal district of Jammu and Kashmir. Due to this, the Srinagar-Leh National Highway has been closed. Many houses and vehicles have also been damaged. Traffic on the Srinagar-Leh road has been suspended till further notice due to road damage in Kacherwan of Ganderbal district. Some buildings including people's houses have been damaged due to flash floods caused by cloudburst.
According to the information received, officials are present on the spot to help the needy people. Due to the closure of the highway, the Kashmir Valley is cut off from the Union Territory of Ladakh, while the Baltal base camp for the Amarnath Yatra has also become inaccessible. Officials reached the spot to assess the damage. According to locals, many roads and crops have also been damaged due to heavy cloudburst in Kangan, Ganderbal.
