East Champaran, 02 August (HS). A team of Gadhiya OP police under the leadership of Pakridyal DSP Subodh Kumar on Thursday arrested a notorious criminal who had escaped from police custody four and a half months ago after breaking free from handcuffs, along with his another accomplice. Giving information about this, the DSP said that the arrested criminals are Ajit Kumar and Sachin Kumar of Semra village of Gadhiya OP area.
On March 9, while being brought from Gadhiya police station to Madhuban police station, Ajit escaped from handcuffs by breaking free from police custody during a jam near Malang Chowk. Six cases of vehicle theft, Arms Act, robbery and buying and selling of stolen vehicles are registered against the cunning Ajit in Madhuban police station and two cases in Pipra police station. A stolen Bullet bike, a pistol and two live cartridges have been recovered from him. An Apple mobile stolen from Delhi has been recovered from his accomplice Sachin.
The raiding team included Madhuban police station chief Sanjeev Maur, Gadhiya OP in-charge Rajiv Ranjan Kumar, SI Dinesh Kumar Singh, Naseem Haider, Rajendra Paswan along with male and female police personnel.
