Saharsa, 1 August (HS). Villagers have submitted an application to the divisional commissioner demanding an inquiry and appropriate action on the irregularities in the construction of crop protection dam under MNREGA scheme in Koparia village of Koparia Panchayat of Salkhua block of the district. On Wednesday, the villagers reached the project site and protested.
Villagers have alleged that Rs 6 lakh was withdrawn in the name of crop protection dam without doing any work. In the application given to the commissioner, villagers Narendra Kumar, Rajesh Kumar, Ajit Kumar, Raj Kumar, Vikas Kumar, Pintu Kumar Munna, Jitendra Kumar, Dinesh Yadav etc. said that the scheme implemented under MNREGA by Panchayat Samiti member cum Deputy Chief Babulal Yadav Mandal of part 1 or 2 of Koparia Panchayat of Salkhua block is the construction of crop protection Kachcha Dam from Chakradhar Yadav's residence to Babulal Yadav's field in Koparia village. Its work code is FP / 20360525 and its estimated amount is 8,89, 692. More than 6 lakh was withdrawn on this scheme without doing any work.
Five years of this scheme have not even been completed and the estimated amount of the scheme has been withdrawn again. While this is a road, money has already been withdrawn in the name of the road. At present, the villagers have alleged that the government money has been withdrawn in the name of crop protection dam in place of the road without doing any work. In this regard, program officer Abhishek Anand said that the matter will be investigated in the light of the application.
