Ranchi, 27 July (HS). ED presented arrested land dealer Kamlesh Kumar in the court of PMLA Court Special Judge Rajiv Ranjan on Saturday amid tight security. The court sent Kamlesh Kumar to Birsa Munda Central Jail (jail) in judicial custody till August 8. An application has been filed by ED to take him on remand in the case. The court will hear the remand on Monday.
In the case related to the land scam, ED raided Kamlesh's hideouts on 21 June. During this, ED recovered one crore cash and 100 rifle bullets from the flat. After this, on the request of ED officials, an FIR was registered against Kamlesh in Ranchi's Kanke police station under the Arms Act. ED sent five summons to Kamlesh and called him to the ED office for questioning, but he did not appear before the ED. After this, ED issued the sixth summons and asked him to appear at the regional office in Ranchi at 11 am on 26 July. Kamlesh Kumar reached the ED office on Airport Road on Friday afternoon. ED questioned him but Kamlesh could not answer ED's questions clearly. After this, ED arrested Kamlesh late at night.
