Manorama Khedkar, mother of controversial trainee IAS officer Pooja Khedkar, was on Thursday sent to police custody till July 20. The court has also ordered that Manorama Khedkar should not be given any other facility except home-cooked food.
The Pune Police team arrested Manorama Khedkar from Hotel Parvati located in Hirakanwadi area of Mahad tehsil of Raigad district at 2.50 am on Thursday. After this, the police brought Manorama to Pune and after getting her medical done, presented her in the Pune court. Pune Police sought police custody of Manorama Khedkar for seven days but the court has ordered to give custody till July 20 only.
It is noteworthy that Dilip Khedkar, father of trainee IAS officer Pooja Khedkar, had bought 25 acres of land in Mulsi, Ahmednagar. The villagers of Mulsi say that last year the Khedkar family wanted to occupy more than 25 acres of land. A dispute arose in Mulsi over this and at that time Manorama Khedkar threatened the farmers by waving a pistol. Its video went viral on social media last week, on the basis of which the team of Paud Police Station registered a case against seven people including Manorama Khedkar, Dilip Khedkar. Manorama Khedkar and Dilip Khedkar were staying in Parvati Hotel by changing their names. The Pune Police team is actively searching for Dilip Khedkar and other accused in this case.
